Why do I see a message saying "Sorry, there is not enough memory to display this pattern"?
This message indicates that the Window Monkey control panel can't load a pattern from the Window Monkey Preferences file.
Either the pattern uses too much memory be displayed, or the pattern is somehow corrupted.
If this is happening on a single pattern that you recently added, choose "Clear" from the Edit menu to delete it.
If it's happening with a number of patterns, or if Window Monkey seems to have other problems (perhaps even causing crashes), you should delete the entire Window Monkey Preferences file.
To do this:
- Close the Window Monkey control panel window, if it's open.
- In the Finder, open your System Folder.
- Open the Preferences folder that's inside the System Folder.
- Locate the file "Window Monkey Preferences" and move it to the trash can (but don't choose "Empty Trash" yet).
- Restart your computer. Window Monkey will create a new Preferences file, and the problems should disappear.
One drawback of doing this is that you will lose any custom patterns you've added to Window Monkey.
If this happens to you, send the damaged Window Monkey Preferences file (in your trash can) to us as an e-mail attachment at support@tigertech.com. We can probably recover most of the patterns you previously had and send them back to you.
