When I try to install a bulb, a box appears asking me what program to open it with. Why?

If you try to open a bulb, but Windows doesn't know what application to open it with, there are two possible causes.

First of all, you may be using an old version of Holiday Lights. Holiday Lights 4.0 or later is required to be able to add bulbs. If you have an older version, simply download the free upgrade from our Download Center.

Secondly, you might have renamed the bulb file when you downloaded it. The names of bulb files must end with ".bul" to be recognized by Windows and Holiday Lights. If you renamed a bulb file, simply rename it again so that the name ends with ".bul".
