How do I prevent America Online from covering the bulbs?

Normally, America Online displays its windows as maximized, meaning they cover up the entire desktop wallpaper. If you have Holiday Lights set to draw the bulbs only on the desktop wallpaper, the AOL window covers them up — they're still there, but you can't see them.

If you have Holiday Lights 5.0 or later, you can set the bulbs to display above all other windows, which solves this problem. You can get the latest version of Holiday Lights from our Download Center; it's a free upgrade.

If you don't want to set the bulbs to draw above all other windows, another solution is to shrink the AOL window: click in the blue triangular "AOL" icon in the top-left corner of the screen, then choose "Restore" from the menu that appears.

The window will get smaller and you'll be able to see the bulbs. You can then size and move the window to make it as big as you want, while still being able to see the bulbs.
