Do your Macintosh programs work with Mac OS 9?

Yes. The current versions of our Macintosh programs work with any color-capable Macintosh using any version of System 7, Mac OS 8 (including Mac OS 8.5 and 8.6), and Mac OS 9 (including Mac OS 9.1 and 9.2).

Some earlier versions of our programs are incompatible with Mac OS 8.5 and later, so be sure you have the latest version of each program from our Download Center. Upgrades are free.

What about Mac OS X?

Window Monkey, Menuette, Helium, and Speed Beep do not work with Mac OS X (except in older versions of the Mac OS X Classic environment), because Mac OS X does not support system extensions at all.

While Holiday Lights may run with Mac OS X in the Classic environment (as long as the bulbs are set to draw "On Top of All Windows" and you have installed QuickTime version 6 in the Classic environment), we don't really recommend it.

We haven't ruled out "porting" Holiday Lights to Mac OS X in the future, but it's not a trivial task, and we currently do not have the resources available to do so. As an alternative, Mac OS X users should check out MacLampsX, a freeware program that displays bulbs like Holiday Lights.
